Children and teenagers love art. We have found that even adults love making art!

Especially for a member of the family struggling with confusion - art is powerful. Painting, coloring, drawing, and any artistic expression helps them get out the hurts and stories trapped in their hearts. Their minds begin to relax. They learn self-control, have new thoughts, plan ahead, practice creativity, and express themselves to the family in new ways. Then they get affirmed for freely expressing themselves. Affirm their artwork!

How can you tell a child is healing and moving successfully through levels of development? Their artwork improves.

Older children and teenagers find Art Journaling incredibly helpful in their journey of self-expression. We provide  a blank notebook, materials, pens and magazines to cut out pictures,  turn on the music to help young people focus, and let the healing begin! After an hour of intense journaling and art, teenagers emerge with a notebook full of self-expression, ideas and pain revealed in new ways. It is incredibly helpful when an adult processes the art with their young person.
