What good is providing family ministry if we do not practically meet their needs?
So one of our goals is to humanitarian relief that truly helps long-term and does not create dependence. We do that by partnering with other ministries already operating in that area of the world. Humanitarian relief is given in trusted, accountable relationships, and directly through a native volunteer with another ministry who is in that country and culture. In that way, families get a relationship with someone they trust and see as "one their own". This is important!
We believe it's smart to equip an accountable, ongoing training relationship with the family receiving help. Trainers personally walk with families getting restored step by step. In that way, communities are changed from within with the help of their own people.
Humanitarian relief may include things like
- food donations
- school supplies
- clothes and shoes
- family necessities like toiletries
- spiritual, emotional, and physical needs met
- whatever is needed to help that family overcome a crisis
